Whippet in Alaska

We are managing what is very typical here in Fairbanks -- the occasional -45F day. Today, it warmed up to 0F so we went to the dog park. Tyler is getting to be a real Frisbee dog. He only somersaulted two or three times when he lost track of the Frisbee. He really creates a snowstorm from the impact.

My grandma sent us a quilt that was completed in part by many members of my family and neighbors. We are so appreciative of this quilt -- it is really keeping us warm on these cold winter days. The white color brightens the darkest of days.

Last week, we were able to take Tyler out to play at a park near our house. As you can see, he needed to wear his booties, neck gater and jacket. We had them specially made at a local sewing shop that customizes all types of gear.
He really likes to catch his frisbee. In fact, he starting to jump up and catch it mid-air -- we are looking forward to next summer when he will be able play for longer periods of time [right now we max out at ~15 min at 0 F.

Today we are taking it easy... Hope you all have a Happy New Year!
